A Dutchess County resident launched his campaign Monday to challenge freshman Republican John Faso in New York’s 19th Congressional District.
After raising roughly $300,000 during an exploratory campaign phase, Dutchess County Democrat Antonio Delgado is set to announce on Monday that he is making his run for Congress in the 19th district official.
"Delgado said he’s exploring a run because he feels he cannot stand by and watch the 'deeply troubling' policies of Faso and the Trump administration."
“As I’ve travelled the district, I have been overwhelmed by the encouragement and grassroots support.”
“It’s that American Dream that all families in our region deserve and that too many feel is slipping away.”
"[Delgado] raised more than $300,000 since it was set up at the end of February. That gives him an early financial edge over the other two Democrats."
"Faso shows $269K on hand after Q1... and Antonio Delgado of Dutchess County has nearly $298,000 on hand."
